Yesterday we drove from Mason to Sandusky, or from Kings Island to Cedar Point. We had one full day at Kings Island, as I was sick for the first one. The second day was brilliant! We got to ride some unique rides...
DiamondBack
DiamondBack is marketed as the 'biggest, fastest, meanest coaster to ever strike Kings Island'. We rode it twice and it was fantastic! The ride was so smooth, and the harnesses were really cool. For some of the looping rides here you don't get full harnesses, only lap bars. This one doesnt loop, but at 230 feet high it's quite a magnificent ride!
FireHawk was another ride that we loved! It was our first experience of a lie-down coaster. You got strapped into a harness and then tilted back. It felt like you were flying in a fighter jet! This one was mums favourite ride, but Maddy, Dad and I liked another one better...
The Beast was our first experience of a wooden coaster, and it was the best coaser in the park! It lacked the smoothness of all the other rides, but it wasn't too rickety. At 1.4 miles it is the longest wooden coaster in the world! I never though a wooden coaster could be this thrilling, but powering through tunnels at 72 miles per hour on a rickety wooden track is something not to be missed! We also did this ride in the dark, at about 10:30. It added a whole new dimension to the ride. 72 miles an hour, pitch black, 1.4 miles... It felt like you were going to fall off the tracks!
The aptly named Beast
There were also some other coasters like Flight of Fear, Adventure Express, Woodstock Express etc. We did our first awesome day at Cedar Point today... More about that later.
Erhh...I hate wooden coasters. I swear the Mad Mouse was just going to disintergrate every time we went around a corner...
